T7 7-Inch Vehicle Tablet
The compact 7-inch terminal for tight cabs and guidance work.
View the T7The T8 Pro keeps the 8-inch format of the T8 and replaces the platform underneath it. A Qualcomm QCM6125 octa-core processor running at 2.0 GHz, with an Adreno 610 GPU, drives Android 11 or Android 13 and gives the terminal enough headroom for video-heavy work. The product page highlights two capabilities that follow from that platform: four camera channels can record at the same time, each producing its own video file, and a DisplayPort interface supports a second display showing different content. PDS shows this model in taxi and fleet contexts, where camera evidence and a passenger-facing screen are everyday requirements rather than extras.
For T8 Pro, the screen specification reads: 8" IPS, 1280 x 800, brightness 750 cd/m2 or higher, fully laminated multi-touch. That is a working specification rather than a showroom one. High brightness counters direct sun on the glass, lamination cuts the reflections that wash out cheaper panels, and multi-touch keeps pinch and drag gestures available for map software. Drivers spend whole shifts in front of this panel, so anti-glare behaviour and viewing angle across the cab matter as much as the headline resolution when the terminal is mounted off-centre, as most real installations are.
T8 Pro is built on Qualcomm QCM6125, octa-core 64-bit at 2.0 GHz (Kryo 260 CPU, Adreno 610 GPU) with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM / 64 GB eMMC storage, running Android 11 / Android 13. Treat those three lines as one decision. The processor sets how much simultaneous work the terminal absorbs, memory sets how many applications stay resident, and the operating system decides which existing software can be ported without a rewrite. PDS offers Android across the range and Linux on several models, and the sensible route is to fix the software platform first, then pick the smallest terminal that runs it well.
The T8 Pro is the right step up when the application is judged on video and multitasking rather than screen size. A dispatch terminal that records four camera views, runs a telematics client and drives a second display asks far more of the processor than a guidance screen does, and the Qualcomm platform with dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1 is specified for exactly that load. Buyers should still check the expansion plan early: camera counts, the second-display layout and the RTK option (a UNICORE UM982 module is listed) all shape the harness, so raise them in the first enquiry rather than after quotation.
On the positioning side, T8 Pro specifies: Qualcomm built-in GNSS module; optional RTK module UM982. Communications are: Dual-band WiFi 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac; Bluetooth 5.1; 4G LTE (band sets for Europe, India, Korea, South Asia, Latin America, Australia and South Africa). Read together, those lines describe how the terminal keeps a machine located, guided and reported through a working day. GNSS handles where the vehicle is; the radio links handle what the fleet system knows about it. Where an application needs pass-to-pass repeatability rather than approximate position, the RTK options are the line to discuss first, because antenna choice and mounting follow from it.
Installation reality for T8 Pro: 9-36 V DC input (ISO 7637-II); IP66 sealing; operating temperature -20 to +70 C; interfaces: Four simultaneous camera recording channels; DP connector x1 for a DP display (dual-screen display with different content); 23PIN connector x1 function extension interface; SMA antenna port for the LTE antenna; dimensions 227 x 159.5 x 48 mm. Plan the mount around those numbers. VESA-compatible brackets from the accessory list fit the range, but cab geometry, airbag zones and the driver's sight lines still decide the final position. The wide temperature range covers cold starts and sun-baked cabs, while the vibration and shock testing named in the specification is the baseline a terminal needs before it can be trusted on unsprung machinery.
